2021 Big Broadcast Survey (BBS) Reports Now Available

Josh Stinehour | January 24, 2022

The 2021 Big Broadcast Survey Reports are now available.

Survey responses to the latest Big Broadcast Survey (BBS) were gathered throughout the 2021 calendar year from several thousand global media technology professionals. Participants span broadcasters, playout centers, post-production facilities, OTT service providers, outside broadcast providers, and an ever-increasing set of audio & video professionals working outside of the the media industry.

This past edition was the 13th consecutive year Devoncroft Partners has conducted the BBS, which remains the largest annual demand-side study of the global broadcast and media technology sector. Each year we update the suppliers, product categories, and market trends profiled based on feedback from technology vendors, media companies, and investors.

The unique circumstances encountered in 2020, caused a slight extension to the usual cadence of the 2021 survey efforts (versus the more typical early fall publication). Those same unique circumstances offer a fascinating baseline to view the 2021 responses on budgets, trends, next-generation technology deployments, and views of individual technology suppliers.

We will publish selected highlights from the current BBS reports on this blog. These articles will post on a semi-regular basis, so please check back often.  To receive posts when published, please enter register with your email in the box in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

For those parties interested in additional information on the full 2021 BBS reports, please call or email us.
